Bean Traders is a comfortable environment with baked goods, coffee drinks, and they sell roasted coffee beans for you to take home. They have been open since 2000, which is rare for today’s coffee shops that seem to keep popping up. They like to give back to the community, too, so you can feel great about supporting them with your cup of joe. They have plenty of seating, and tons of delicious local options, so come hungry and stay a while!

Cocoa Cinnamon

Cocoa Cinnamon has just opened its third location in Durham, so you know it’s good. Their newest location, ‘Cocoa Cinnamon Lakewood,’ adds churros to their menu. The Geer Street location is known for its hip environment and patrons, and is a great stop if you’re in Brightleaf Square. They won the News and Observer’s ‘Best in Class’ for a coffee shop in 2017, as if you needed more convincing. They offer a diverse array of coffee and espresso drinks, as well as chocolate drinks.

Pine Cone Ice Cream and Coffee

Pine Cone is located in Brightleaf Square, popular local shopping and restaurant spot. They serve local Maple View Farm ice cream, and also-local Joe Van Gogh coffee. They have an awesome variety of ice cream flavors, including dairy free options.
