Operation Coming Home and CalAtlantic Homes will be hosting a flag raising ceremony celebrating a milestone in the journey to complete hero home #13 at Morgan Park in Holly Springs from 10 until 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 21.
Operation Coming Home broke ground in March on a new Hero Home in the Holly Springs new home community to benefit wounded veteran, SSGT Brandan Lee Joseph Taylor and his family, who will move into the donated home when building is complete.
Taylor served in the U.S. Marine Corps for 10 years and was on four deployments, but was injured in Afghanistan in 2014, sustaining severe back, spine and knee injuries. It was Taylor’s courage that led the Operation Coming Home Board to choose Taylor’s family, including his wife Chelsey, 6 year old son, and two baby twin boys for the home.
The home in Morgan Park features spacious family areas, 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a game room and screened-in porch. The home will be accessible, with a wheelchair accessible shower and wider doorways and Morgan Park offers amenities such as a pool, fitness center, play areas, and proximity to a greenway trail system.
“We are honored to have the opportunity to partner with Operation Coming Home to create an exceptional home for such an extremely deserving American hero,” says Troy George, Raleigh Division President for CalAtlantic Homes. “It is our hope that this home provides a backdrop for the Taylor family to make cherished memories for many years to come.”
New Homes & Ideas magazine is proud to support Operation Coming Home.
