Living in Morrisville NC

Cary and Morrisville top the list of safest North Carolina towns

Welcome to Morrisville!

One of the first things you'll notice about the town, is how involved everyone is. Morrisville is civic-minded, and unafraid to show its democratic spirit. In case you'd rather watch a marathon of your favorite TV show than find and attend a local government meeting, the city itself offers pointers on how to get involved in the community, in a program called "Morrisville 101." Anyone can attend this one-time class, where they will learn how to put their stamp on life in Morrisville. Everyone has a voice here, and you can learn how to make yours heard!
On the weekends, head to Lake Crabtree County Park. The main attraction here is the 520-acre lake, perfect for water sports or just a day of relaxation on the water. Although Morrisville residents clearly appreciate the thrill of the catch, all fishing here is catch-and-release, out of respect for the environment. On land, there is also a seven-mile-long trail for the hikers and bikers among you--we hear mountain bikers particularly prize this location, because of the variation in its terrain.
If you can't find your old mountain bike in your garage, consider going shopping instead. Your best bet locally are the Prime Outlets. Here you can find deals at your favorite stores, like Off 5th Saks Fifth Avenue, Nine West, Dress Barn, and Carter's.
And if you're just here for the food, Morrisville is known for lots of good grub, from Indian food at Tower Indian Restaurant to Italian at Lubranos, and Mexican at Los Tres Magueyes. Of course, as a newcomer, your first stop should be Danny's Bar-B-Que. Their smoked pulled pork and spare ribs are a fitting introduction to a state and a town that takes pride in its Southern heritage. For a more upscale afternoon, visit the Chatham Hill Winery--the first of its kind in the Raleigh-Durham area.
