The Johnston County schools system serves over 33,000 students from pre-K through 12th grade in 44 schools (22 elementary, 13 middle, and 10 high). Johnston County’s rapid growth is mainly due to the excellent schools offered in the area, and their student population has doubled in the past 15 years. Strong community support has allowed Johnston County Schools’ graduation rate to climb 13% in the past four years, as well as a steadily¬†decreasing dropout rate, which has fallen 50% in the past four years. Johnston County schools boast 304 Nationally Board Certified teachers, and offer global partnership programs including the Visiting International Faculty Program, which provides teachers from around the world.
