Award-winning Perry Builders hosted its second annual Construction Day for preschoolers at North Raleigh United Methodist Church Preschool. Nearly 150 preschool students participated in an educational forum receiving functional instruction on how to operate a power saw, woodworking techniques and correct procedures for hammering nails.
“Children learn best from hands-on exploration,” said Ryan Perry, CEO, Perry Builders. “It’s never too early to expose these developing minds to a variety of experiences that are both fun and educational.”
Again this year, Perry Builders provided construction equipment, including a dump truck, excavator and Bobcat. Hands-on workstations allowed the students to explore the use of construction tools and equipment as well as homebuilding plans. Teachers, assistants, parent volunteers and Perry Builders’ employees staffed the event.
“We are so thankful to Perry Builders for its continued support of our educational forum,” said preschool Director Donna Porter. “Ryan Perry’s philosophy about learning mirrors our own at North Raleigh United Methodist Preschool. These young people are like sponges, soaking up the information provided by Perry Builders. Ryan is correct. It’s never too early to expose young minds to educational experiences.”
