WRAL Concept Home

WRAL, the WakeMed Foundation and JM Davis Custom Homes is inviting the public to the WRAL Concept Home Tour. The 2008 WRAL Concept Home will be a showcase of fine living with 4 bedrooms, 5 1/2 baths and will feature a state-of-the-art theater room, a screened-in porch with a fireplace, gourmet kitchen and first floor master suite.
The public is invited to tour this fully furnished, $1.55 million, 7,651 square foot luxury home April 4 through 6 and April 11 through 13. In the meantime, weekly progress updates can be seen on WRAL as construction is completed and the home is filled with furnishings, products and services.
The WRAL Concept Home, located in Rose Hall subdivision in north Raleigh, is being built by JM Davis Custom Homes and was designed by Sam Young of Southern Designs. Rose Hall Development is a high-end residential community featuring large homesites and exceptional custom homes. Several other luxury homes in Rose Hall will also be available for viewing during the tour.
The WRAL Concept Home has earned the ENERGY STAR rating. To earn this designation, a home must meet guidelines for energy efficiency set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. These homes are at least 15% more energy efficient than homes built to the 2004 International Residential Code (IRC), and include additional energy-saving features that typically make them 20–30% more efficient than standard homes.
The tour is free, but donations will be accepted. Donations collected will support the WakeMed Foundation’s efforts to expand pediatric serves at WakeMed North Healthplex. The North Healthplex features the first 24-hour, full service, freestanding emergency department in North Carolina. Soon, 20 new inpatient beds will be added to the facility, making it Wake County’s fifth hospital.
Many community sponsors are making the WRAL Concept Home Tour possible, including: • Nashville Furniture is providing the interior furnishings and accessories • Dynamic Floor Supply is responsible for hardwood flooring • Design Surfaces is supplying the countertops • LP Corp/TechShield is installing a radiant barrier to help with energy efficiency • Rinnai is providing a tankless water heater • 1st Choice Cabinets is responsible for all of the cabinetry • Garner TV & Appliance is providing the state of the art appliances • Southern Staircase is responsible for the home’s staircase • Rain Escape
