New Act Helps First-Time Homebuyers in the Triangle
The Housing and Economic Recovery Act of 2008 was signed by President Bush on July 30, 2008. Although the primary basis of the Act is to improve confidence and stability in markets by providing mortgage relief (by keeping American families in their homes), other areas of the Act include many positive aspects for first-time homebuyers.

The North Carolina Home Builders Association (NCHBA) is a state trade association representing 70 local associations and more than 16,000 member firms involved in the residential construction industry.  A not-for-profit organization, the NCHBA provides its members with networking and educational opportunities and represents them in matters of government relations and advocacy.


In the most recent awards, 400 building industry professionals from around North Carolina gathered in August 2006, for the annual STARS Awards Gala.  Winners received recognition in 36 categories that represented builders, developers, sales and marketing professionals, interior merchandisers, web designers, home builders associations, and others in the home building industry.

 
The STARS Awards Gala pays tribute to exceptional new home sales and marketing efforts recognizing superior achievements in a broad range of categories. A total of 44 STARS winners and 15 Outstanding Achievements were recognized at this year’s event. These awards symbolize tremendous achievement, honor, and distinction among building industry professionals.
