Cathy Calloway Interior Design created a romantic ambiance in Bedroom Suite #2.
Cathy Calloway of Cathy Calloway Interior Design has drawn on her twenty-five years of interior design experience to create a romantic Tuscan bedroom in the Showcase for a Cure benefit house. As a first time contributor to the Showcase design team, Cathy felt the project was a way of giving back after her father’s death from cancer.
“With Casa Lucca I wanted to show that Tuscan décor didn’t have to be dark and heavy,” she explained. “Good design is an educational process. It is important to understand the client’s needs and lifestyles in order to synergistically create the look they want.” In this case the show home was her client.
Calloway’s success reflects her imaginative talents. The Italian reproduction furniture, the subtle shades of browns and aquas, the soft silk, velvet and chenille fabrics, the embroidered silk button-accented coverlet, the ornate reproduction Italian mirror, and the antique lamps, picture frames, and silver boxes accessorizing the furnishings in the room all speak of her abilities to skillfully achieve the Tuscan spirit in a room that is as warm as it is elegant.
The romance of the bedroom is continued in the bath with a unique wall treatment of Tuscan lace over peeling plaster done by Janice Faulkner of Decorative Arts Studios. The effect resembling faded antique wallpaper is stunning.
This romantic bedroom designed by Cathy Calloway exemplifies the elegance and style of this high-end house. Candlelight, subtle scents and soft music are all that is needed to make this room a perfect retreat.
