For the fourth year The M Group Interiors is part of the design team to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society house. marty cohen’s interior design skills are obvious in the stunning dining room he created, combining his fresh approach to design with the décor of Tuscan homes.
“I wanted the eye to drift around the room, taking in the different layers with surprising elements that give the room pop,” said the Chief Creative Officer Marty Cohen. These elements include the orange toile of the window treatments, inspired by ball gowns which drape softly to the floor, softening the length of the window. Whimsical green, red and orange china is displayed on the striking 8’6” custom-made dining table. Unique iron Jan Barboglio floor vases hold colorful floral arrangements.
Art work in the room includes Keith Abney’s allegorical painting, “What Would They Bring Today?”, imagery of past, present and future on the Biblical theme of the three wise men, and Jan Barboglio’s pseudo-contemporary hand forged iron Angel de Paz sculpture.
Although the house could easily become overpowering by virtue of its size and strong style, Cohen has succeeded in creating a warm, cozy dining room, whether used for a family dinner or an extravagant evening of entertainment. The designer combines an appreciation for the classics with a mood of informality, style and comfort with a twist of character. He is a true professional who is learned, seasoned, and creative, who inspires, challenges and stimulates. His national reputation for innovative originality is certainly well deserved.
This house is absolutely beautiful....a true Tuscan style with stately presence whose grand scale is appropriate to the home. -Marty Cohen, The M Group Interiors
