Fabulous Flooring is the First Impression

The elegant Tuscan tone for the house is set by the wood-framed diamonds of hand-etched Travertine tiles inserted into the white oak hardwood flooring.
For over eleven years Preferred Flooring has built its reputation in the Triangle. For the sixth year they have participated in the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society benefit house.
“We are proud to be given the opportunity to contribute in whatever way we can to help to further research, so that soon we should be able to overcome this terrible disease,” stated Tricia Burchette, President. “We have several loved ones who have lost their battle to some form of cancer.” She also added that Preferred Flooring’s vendors and installers always want to participate in this project, donating their product or skill.
Preferred Flooring succeeded in creating a powerful first impression as you enter the Showcase for a Cure benefit house. The elegant Tuscan tone for the house is set by the wood-framed diamonds of hand-etched Travertine tiles inserted into the white oak hardwood flooring. The tung oil finish burned into the six-inch oak planks brings out beautiful tone variations.
Green-friendly recycled nylon carpeting used in the bedrooms and bonus room keeps with the house’s environmental theme. The Nylon 6 fiber can be recycled repeatedly without losing any of its aesthetic or performance properties, and does not emit volatile organic compound gases associated with allergies and asthma. The Shaw carpeting selections vary in the subtle colors and patterns used in the rooms, but all fit comfortably into the Old World spirit of the house.
Both porcelain and natural stone tile were used in the bathrooms, laundry room and kitchen, each uniquely designed to add to the décor of the spaces. Insets, varied shapes and colors, stylized designs, and combinations of sizes complement the atmosphere of the six distinctive bathrooms.
Throughout the house Preferred Flooring has made a special contribution to the distinctiveness of this show home. The flooring sets the tone, enhances the atmosphere, and adds to the elegance and uniqueness of the residence. But as Burchette emphasizes, “Products are one thing. It is the people behind the scenes who made this house what it is, for without their hard work and dedication it would not have happened.”
Burchette added, “We were so excited when the house was finally completed. I think that between Rex (Bost, builder), John (Houston, Senior Project Manager, VP Operations for Bost Homes), Lisa (Grimes, Design Team Leader), all the subcontractors, and the designers, everyone worked extremely well together to achieve the vision we all had. We feel that this was one of the best Showcase Homes we have done. Being able to use green friendly products and achieving an Old World look is not always easy.”
This generous philosophy of Preferred Flooring, the pride of its staff and crew in the project, and the incredible result of their efforts underline the quality products and the craftsmanship of the company. And this is what the Showcase for a Cure benefit house is all about.
