Crescent Communities

Nestled in almost 600 beautifully wooded, rolling acres surrounding a spring-fed 75-acre lake, Crescent Communities’ Hidden Lake is located 20 minutes northeast of Raleigh in the serene town of Youngsville. Upon completion, this exclusive gated community will be home to 124 families on homesites ranging from one to over six acres; more than 40 of these lovely homesites will be lakefront. With 227 acres of open space including a 100-acre Audubon International Signature Wildlife Sanctuary, miles of bike paths and walking trails, a fishing pier, a boat house with canoes and kayaks for resident use, a community amenity center, a pavilion, and even a full-time caretaker to plan community activities, it’s easy to see why Hidden Lake is attracting so much attention!
Hidden Lake was selected as the site for the 2007 Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Showcase for a Cure in part for its exquisite setting and outstanding amenities. It was also selected in large part due to the genial attitude of the community’s developer, Crescent Communities.
Crescent Communities is a trademark of Crescent Resources, LLC, a joint venture between Duke Energy and Morgan Stanley Real Estate Fund. Formed in 1969, Crescent has ascended as a respected leader in the real estate development and land management arena. The company is committed to adding value to the land in which it is entrusted, through taking a proactive approach to protect and enhance natural resources, thereby making a minimum impact on the environment. A genuine caring for the communities served by Crescent is exhibited via standard systems such as engineering practices to protect the ecological health of the land, water quality monitoring programs, expanded buffers to stabilize shorelines and provide wildlife corridors, the encouragement of green building practices, and the incorporation of native plants and backyard habitats.
As the proud sponsor of the 2007 Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Showcase for a Cure, Crescent Communities is no stranger to charitable cause partnerships. In North Carolina alone, the company has sponsored show homes and home tours benefiting the March of Dimes and the Salvation Army, as well as Home for the Holidays Show Homes benefiting the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Crescent Communities has also implemented a North Carolina program called Planting Partners, which provides landscaping and perennial plants to area public schools.
Crescent Communities was honored to be asked to participate in the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s 2007 Showcase for a Cure event. In addition to a monetary donation, Crescent hosted a 500-person Black Tie event at Hidden Lake, raising approximately $40,000 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
“Being a part of the Showcase for a Cure home was a natural fit for Crescent’s development philosophy focusing on healthy living and a healthy environment,” says Mike Burnett, Senior Vice President, Crescent Resources, LLC. “We were excited to be involved in a project that benefits cancer support and research, the environment and the future residents of this home.”
